About Todo Latino
Todo Latino is Spanish for everything Latin and that’s just what founders, Amanda Hawley and Wilson Castro want to bring to our clients across the Midlands.
Before Todo Latino, Amanda invited her dance partner and celebrity Salsa champion Wilson to join her in a joint business venture, Latin Fiesta, to offer Salsa and Bachata lessons and Salsa parties in the East Midlands.
As the business went from success to success, Amanda and Wilson realised that there was a great demand for the sort of authentic Latin dance they were offering and that their clients were looking for more than just Salsa lessons and parties.
And so Latin Fiesta became Todo Latino, to encompass all forms of Latin dance, workshops and holidays, health and fitness, social community and so much more.
Wilson and Amanda
Despite each being gifted and lauded performers in their own right, Wilson and Amanda are passionate about sharing their skills and love of Latin dance with the widest possible audience.
Wilson is a uniquely charismatic teacher of all styles of Latin dance, and an undisputed authority on the precise and intricate nature of Dominican Salsa and Bachata.
Amanda has a special talent for transforming even the most nervous English wallflower into an accomplished Latin dancer and is considered by some to be the best Bachata performer in the UK today.
Sharing Our Passion For Latin Dance
As Todo Latino, we teach Salsa and Bachata and more, in a committed, lively and, above all, fun environment, to all levels, from absolute beginners to national competition standard.
We also bring Latin spirit to corporate events and special occasions, introduce dance to schools and work with underprivileged children to raise self-esteem through dance.
Philosophy
We’re passionate about giving you the skills and versatility you need to dance confidently, naturally and with flair to any Latin rhythm, in any Latin style. We’re also on a mission to ensure that each unique style of Salsa as well as Bachata and Merengue continue to exist as distinct dances in their own right.
So we won’t teach you a rigid set of steps or sequences which you can’t adapt once you’re out of the studio.
What we will do is steep you in Latin rhythm and movement, to help you to interpret the music, wherever you are. Then we’ll introduce you to the basic steps of a number of Salsa styles, including Cuban and Cross Body. And, once you’ve mastered these, we’ll introduce the more advanced Dominican Salsa and Bachata.
We teach the purest form of each style, so you can discover their unique pleasures for yourself, and they won’t all meld into one homogeneous form of Latin disco. Of course, where you take your newfound skills, once you’ve learned them, is entirely up to you. Enjoy!
