Absolute Beginners' Salsa
Ideal for: those with no previous experience of Salsa or who have had a few lessons.
A complete introduction to the basic rhythm and moves which will allow you to progress to the different styles of Salsa and Bachata ideally completed as a closed course.
If you can’t commit to a weekly date, come along to our open course. It might take a little longer but you’ll still be able to progress to more advanced instruction and different styles, in your own time.

Understanding Salsa timing and different styles of Salsa music, in preparation for social dancing
How to listen for the Salsa beat 123 567
Leading and following skills related to the following steps
Mambo step, Rumba step, Open step , Open break step / Cuban Basic step, Cross Body Lead step, Cuddle or In and Out step, Dile Que no step, Walking step,
Basic single turn (male and female), basic double turn on 8 (male and female)

There’s really no need but, if you’re worried about your first time, why not book a private lesson. Lots of our students, particularly men, feel more comfortable an introduction to Salsa music and the basic steps in private and can then confidently join our Absolute Beginners’ Salsa.
