Beginners' Salsa

Beginners must be able to dance all the steps in the Absolute Beginners’ Salsa course, to the salsa rhythm.

In the 4-week closed course, you will learn to “dance” the steps more fluidly and to the style of the music.

You’ll learn moves based on the basic steps with additions, for example, a cross body lead step with a basic turn.  You will be taught to cross your partner with a variety of breaks and connecting movements.  You will also learn to connect steps and combine them with less basic steps in between.

Additional 4-week open courses of Beginners’ Salsa will each focus on a specific step, turn, break or combination, for intensive improvement in that element of your dancing.   

Most students will need to complete several Beginners’ Salsa courses, focusing on different aspects of Salsa, before achieving the breadth of movement and level of technical ability, musical understanding and fluidity required to advance to Improvers’ Salsa.  

You’ll know when you’re ready to move up because you will be able to complete Beginners’ Salsa lessons with ease and dance entire routines to a variety of salsa tracks without hesitation or instruction.

Each 4-week, closed course costs just £20.  Open classes cost £6 each.
