Everybody Loves Wilson

Wilson Castro inspires loyalty and devotion among current and former students alike. In fact, many of Wilson’s former students have gone on to teach Salsa and Bachata themselves.  See what they have to say:

A Warm Wilson Welcome

Hi Wilson,

Just wanted to write and tell you what an inspiration you’ve been to me with your dance lessons. I’ve spent the last three years trying out different classes and different instructors, but I have to say that your classes come out tops for me.

It’s not just your knowledge of salsa, it’s your attention to detail and the enthusiasm that you bring to every lesson. Your classes are always well paced, you manage to see everyone and what they are doing and you manage to correct our mistakes without enbarassing any individual dancer by making everyone aware that it’s them you are talking about.

I like the way that you manage to put us through a complicated new routine and yet make the lesson so enjoyable that we don’t notice the complexity. But, if I had to single out one particular aspect, it would be the warm welcome that everyone receives when they first come along to your lessons and the atmosphere of a group of people really enjoying themselves.

Long may you reign!

Best,

Tony Glover

A Life Enhancing Teacher

Where do I start?

Learning to dance salsa, bachata and cha cha cha with Wilson has enriched my life in so many ways. It has brought me into contact with a huge group of quite lovely people. I have acquired sufficient skill and confidence, not only to go out and enjoy myself in a delightful way. I used to suffer from backache but regular dancing has banished that. And, from time to time, I even a lunch hour salsa course for beginners at a local College where I work part time.

Thanks Wilson.

See you on a dance floor soon no doubt.

Heartfelt Thanks From The Maltese Freaks

Hello Wilson,

Thank you for all the help you ever gave to me and all the salsa freaks of Malta. Thank you for the dancing techniques you always showed us, especially in salsa and bachata.

Thanks to you, I now run two schools, one in Malta and one in Gozo. And I fill in for salsa teachers in Fuego, the number one salsa bar in Malta.

Thank you again and hope to see you again with us in Malta soon,

Edward Camilleri

An Introduction To The Great World Of Salsa

Wilson’s style of teaching is creative, challenging and most of all a lot of fun. When I started salsa, six years ago, Wilson was an inspiration and set me on my way in both my salsa and my bachata. His lessons are always lively and interesting and I have no reservation in recommeding Wilson to teach those wanting to progress in this great world of salsa dancing.

Good luck and see you up North sometime.

Lucky To Have Wilson

If you are looking to learn Latin dancing why not try a Latin dancing Champion who lives right here in Nottingham, Wilson Castro?

Wilson was four times Bachata Champion and seven times Champion of the Dominican Republic, which is a stunning recommendation just by itself, as nobody gets to be champion at anything without being a class apart from the competition, obviously.

I have been attending his Bachata classes for nearly a year and have found them to be of a far higher standard than other classes I’ve been to or seen portrayed on the internet. His knowledge and enthusiasm for Bachata seems inexhaustible, as he is a native Dominican and was brought up living and breathing the folklore of the Dominican dances.

In my view we are very lucky to have Wilson in Nottingham to teach us the lovely and true Dominican way to dance Bachata, which I’m particularly writing about here, as it’s my favourite dance!

His world class knowledge and skills are a joy to learn and his love of dancing certainly comes across in an enthusiastic way along with the beauty of the things he teaches us.

I’m very happy to write this recommendation and I hope it encourages people to try his classes or offer him further teaching contracts.

So Much More Than Just Dance Steps

Hi Amanda & Wilson

Thanks again for another great workshop. I didn't realise there were so many intriguing percussion instruments used in Latin music. The musical tour of the Caribbean was very enjoyable and I think I'll be much more conscious of the different types of music and changes of tempo now.

As usual, some fantastic tips on dance technique, too. I always come away tired but happy and feeling as though I've learnt so much more than just dance steps.

Looking forward to the next one already!

See you on Monday night for Bachata. xx
