Schools & Colleges
All schools know that getting kids to exercise is high on the government’s agenda, but how do you engage children and teenagers who associate pe with sweaty gyms, unflattering games kit and humiliating laps of the school field?
Salsa On Your Syllabus
As well as increasing fitness, dancing has been shown to improve concentration, co-ordination and communication between the sexes. More importantly, in terms of getting kids involved, it’s fun. And Salsa has just been incorporated into GCSE dance.
Todo Latino have been working with schools and colleges right across the Midlands, using dance to support music and drama and social skills development, as wells as the sport and fitness elements of the curriculum. Often, children don’t even notice they’re exercising because they’re concentrating on learning the steps, having a laugh with their classmates and enjoying the music.
Putting The Fun Into Fundraising
And, whether you’ve adopted the American end of school prom, or your PTA uses the end of term disco for fundraising, Todo Latino can provide a specialist DJ so that alongside the usual pop and R&B, pupils can tryout their new-found skills to some Latin beats.
We can even put on a show or incorporate a lesson into your school disco or fundraiser to keep the dance floor full, energy levels up and get everyone, pupils, teachers and parents, involved.
Getting Pupils Fit, Keeping Pupils Safe
Todo Latino would be delighted to introduce Salsa to your school to engage your pupils in any area of the curriculum with workshops, lessons or events, and you’ll find testimonials below from some of the schools we’ve worked with in the past.
Both Wilson Castro and Amanda Hawley are CRB checked and sensitive to the issues when working with school children and young adults . We will be happy to provide further information and references, if required.
Please contact us to find out more about what we’ve done for other schools and colleges and to discuss what sharing our passion for dance could do for your pupils.
