Which Class Is Right For You?

Wilson Castro and Amanda Hawley won’t just teach you steps by rote.  They’ll immerse you in Latin music and movement then gradually introduce the different styles of Salsa to give you the confidence, versatility and flexibility to find your own personal style and dance to any Latin beat.

When you start out, it’s reassuring to know that everyone else is in the same place.  And, as you improve, it’s good to dance with partners who are at the same level so that you can support and challenge each other to keep improving.

Todo Latino classes are structured to ensure that, whatever your previous experience or ability, you’re guaranteed to improve your understanding of Latin rhythms and your technical ability, while having the most fun on the dance floor with dancers of a similar standard.

We’ve learned that the best way to do this is to offer two options for classes to suit your level of commitment and lifestyle:

CLOSED COURSES

Ideal for: absolute beginners and beginners, as well as improvers committed to learning a new style,

These 4 to 8 week courses follow a syllabus over a fixed period, and suit students who's learning style benefits from repeated practice, whilst gradually learning additional movements.  Students join a fixed course, preferably on the first week and attend at the same time each week, if you are unable to attend a class during your course, you are encouraged to attend an open class of the same level, at no extra charge, to ensure you keep dancing regularly.  Drop-in students may attend these Closed courses, however we would ask that prior to attending, you read through the "Which class is right for you" and try to attend a class suitable to your ability, there will be a brief revision of the previous lesson taught in course at the start of the lesson.

Course fees are payable in advance and non refundable to ensure that, even if some students drop-out, the class can carry on unaffected.

OPEN LESSONS

Ideal for: absolute beginners and beginners who are unable to commit to a regular weekly class or those who, as recommended, want to supplement their regular class with extra, supervised practice, as well as improvers who want to sample classes for different styles of Latin dance before making a commitment.

These classes are taught at the same level as closed courses but are structured to accommodate drop-in students.

Apart from the Absolute Beginners open course, which remains a syllabus-based course and follows the exact same pattern and teaches the same movements in the same week as the closed course, all of our open lessons teach a new sequence of movements each week, rather than build up a sequence over consecutive weeks.

So if you turn up to any lesson, provided you are at the right level, you won’t feel that you’ve missed anything and, if you’re a regular attendee, you won’t feel held back by students who need to catch-up.

You can either pay as you go for these open classes or buy Todo Credits which reward your commitment with a discount off every class and give you access to attend any combination of classes, workshops or events.

We look forward to welcoming you to the party.
